ITP International is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit organization founded in 2005 to steward Integral Transformative Practice (ITP), a whole person transformative approach to personal growth and self-evolution. ITP was founded by human potential visionaries George Leonard and Michael Murphy of Esalen Institute. A research-validated program designed to foster personal and social transformation, ITP is grounded in principles of lifelong learning, personal autonomy, and community support.
Through educational materials, programs and support of our member community and interested practitioners, ITP International empowers individuals and groups to realize their full potential, lead balanced, vibrant and healthy lives, and contribute positively to society and the world. ITPI has established a solid, consistent base since its inception and presents trainings and conferences both virtually and onsite at venues, such as Esalen Institute in the US, and internationally.
Position Summary
The Director of Flow, Function, and Strategy is a vital member of the ITPI leadership team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of organizational operations. As a key strategic partner, collaborates with the President to help shape strategy during ITPI's current renewal and growth phase. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with strong experience in financial and operational management. The Director will lead ITPI’s team of long-standing, motivated employees and contractors (7 total at present) to ensure effective operations in support of ITPI's mission to awaken the world to its highest potential. ITP International is based in Corte Madera, CA. This hybrid role requires 1-2 days in office per month, with remote flexibility.

Key Oversight Responsibilities

Financial
-
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting

Prepare financial statements and reports for the Board of Directors and funders

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and nonprofit reporting requirements

Conduct financial analysis and align financial strategies with fundraising programs

Direct grant generation, donor expansion and legacy-building
-
Prepare public and internal year-end financial summaries and projections

Operations
-
Manage team members, contractors, and volunteers

Lead performance management, recruitment, and leadership development

Oversee HR activities, including employee benefits, compensation, and insurance

Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations

Program Support

Guide the logistics and administration for ITPI programs and events

Manage program budgets and track program outcomes

Coordinate with program staff and volunteers to ensure program success

Technology & Infrastructure

Assess IT infrastructure (hardware and software) to meet the evolving vision of ITPI

Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations

Implement and maintain technology systems to support organizational needs

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field; MBA preferred

10+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit and/or for-profit operations management

Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, accounting, and reporting

Strong project management, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; effective collaboration capacities

Proficiency in relevant software and work process platforms

Flexible, adaptable, proactive, emotionally intelligent, and resilient

Alignment with ITPI’s vision and an interest in or experience with personal development programs preferred
Compensation & Benefits
